Review Method

Legalita: Jurnal Hukum employs an online submission and review system to manage all manuscript submissions. Every submitted manuscript must go through a rigorous and structured peer-review process to ensure the highest standards of scholarly publishing. The peer-review process is conducted in accordance with the following policy:

  1. Editorial Responsibility
    The Editorial Board of Legalita holds full responsibility for determining which manuscripts are suitable for publication, including the selection of qualified peer reviewers.

  2. Compliance with Guidelines
    Manuscripts will only be considered for peer review and publication if they strictly adhere to the journal’s Author Guidelines and Manuscript Preparation Instructions.

  3. Independent Peer Review
    Each manuscript is evaluated by at least one (preferably two) independent and qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.

  4. Reviewer Selection
    Reviewers are selected based on their academic background, experience in reviewing scholarly work, and specialization that aligns with the topic of the manuscript.

  5. Double-Blind Review Process
    The journal implements a double-blind review system, wherein both the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous to each other to ensure impartiality and objectivity.

  6. Evaluation Criteria
    The reviewers assess manuscripts based on several key criteria, including:

    • Originality and novelty of the topic

    • Scientific and legal significance

    • Clarity and coherence of methodology

    • Soundness of analysis and conclusions

    • Appropriateness of references and citations

  7. Decision Making
    After the review process, the Editor makes the final decision based on reviewers’ recommendations. Possible editorial decisions include:

    • Accepted: The manuscript is approved for publication.

    • Revision Required: The manuscript will be accepted after minor or major revisions.

    • Rejected: Manuscripts may be rejected due to being out of scope, methodological flaws, poor writing quality, or lack of scholarly contribution.

  8. Confidentiality
    The Legalita Editorial Board strictly maintains the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts, reviewers' identities, and correspondence related to the peer review.

  9. Conflict of Interest
    All authors and reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest. The Editorial Board ensures that such disclosures are managed ethically and transparently in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics.

  10. Copyright and Licensing
    Before publication, authors are required to sign a Copyright Agreement in accordance with the journal’s licensing terms under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
