As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The articles must have been checked by Turnitin, and the maximum similarity level allowed is 25%. Each author is required to upload proof of the similarity check.
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Author Guidelines
Legalita: Jurnal Hukum (P-ISSN: 1412-2480 | E-ISSN: 2776-7248) is an academic journal established in 2019, published by the Department of Law in collaboration with the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Muhammadiyah University of Kotabumi. Legalita serves as a scholarly platform for publishing research articles in the fields of criminal law, civil law, constitutional law, and state administrative law, as well as discussions on social phenomena and efforts to foster legal awareness based on empirical and theoretical research.
In addition to core legal disciplines, the journal also welcomes broader legal studies and interdisciplinary work. Legalita is published biannually, in July and December, with accepted articles made available in advance on the website through an early view system.
Manuscript Submission Guidelines
Authors are required to follow these guidelines when submitting manuscripts:
General Requirements
Manuscripts must be original, presenting either theoretical insights or preferably empirical research aligned with the journal's scope.
Articles must be between 8 to 15 pages, including references.
Format: typed in 1.5 line spacing, A4 paper, with 3 cm left margin, and 2.5 cm for right, top, and bottom margins.
Use Times New Roman, font size 12, and submit files in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.
Structure of Manuscripts
1. Empirical Research Articles
Must include the following components:
Title, author name(s), and institutional affiliation
Abstract in both English and Indonesian (150–200 words)
Keywords
Main content, organized as:
Introduction (25%): literature review, background, problem statement, research objectives, theoretical framework, and hypotheses
Research Methodology (15%): research design, sample/data source, measurement tools, data collection and analysis techniques
Results (25%)
Discussion (30%)
Conclusion and Recommendations (5%)

2. Theoretical or Critical Review Articles
Must include:

Formatting and Referencing
Include the location and date of article completion at the end of the manuscript.
A brief author biography and research identification should be provided as a footnote on the first page.
In-text citations must follow the APA style using the author's last name and year of publication.
The reference list must be alphabetical and follow these formats:
Books:

Submission & Review Process
Submissions must be made at least two months prior to the publishing month.
The acceptance or rejection of articles will be communicated through the online system.
Editorial and Technical Requirements
Maximum acceptable plagiarism is 25%.
Manuscripts must conform to the journal template and style.
At least 85% of references must be from the last 10 years.
Use a reference manager (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero) for citation and bibliography formatting.
Article Processing Fee
A publication fee of IDR 250,000 is charged per accepted article.
