Scope and Focus
The Journal of Agriculture and Animal Science (Agrimals) serves as the official scholarly platform of the Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi. This peer-reviewed journal is dedicated to publishing high-quality articles based on empirical research or theoretical exploration in the fields of:

  • Agriculture

  • Agribusiness

  • Agricultural Socio-Economics

  • Animal Science


Manuscript Submission Requirements

To maintain the quality and integrity of the journal, submitted manuscripts must adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Manuscript Content and Structure

  • Manuscripts should be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • The submission may be a theoretical article or, preferably, empirical research.

  • Manuscript length: 8 to 15 pages, including the bibliography.

  • The document must be typed on A4-sized paper with 1.5 line spacing.

  • Margins: 3 cm (left), 2.5 cm (top, bottom, right).

  • Use Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12.


2. Article Types and Formats

A. Empirical Research Articles

Structure and approximate content breakdown:

  • Title, Author(s) name, and Affiliation

  • Abstract (English and Indonesian): 150–200 words

  • Keywords: 3–5

  • Main Content:

    • Introduction (25%): No subtitle; includes background, problem statement, objectives, theoretical framework, and hypothesis.

    • Methods (15%): Includes research design, sampling/data sources, instruments, data collection, and data analysis techniques.

    • Results (25%): Present key findings supported by relevant data.

    • Discussion (30%): Interpretation of results, implications, and alignment with existing literature.

    • Conclusion and Recommendations (5%)

    • Bibliography

B. Theoretical or Critical Review Articles

Structure and content distribution:

  • Title, Author(s) name, and Affiliation

  • Abstract (English and Indonesian): 150–200 words

  • Keywords: 3–5

  • Main Content:

    • Introduction (15%): Includes the background, problems, objectives, and scope.

    • Discussion (75%): Divided into subheadings; includes literature review and critical analysis.

    • Conclusion and Suggestions (10%)

    • Bibliography


3. Additional Formatting and Ethical Requirements

  • Indicate the place and date of completion and revision at the end of the manuscript.

  • Include a brief author biography and research identity as a footnote on the first page.

  • All submissions must be made through https://jurnal.umko.ac.id/index.php/agrimals

  • Manuscripts must be submitted at least two months prior to the intended publication month.

  • Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection via the relevant submission platform.

  • Manuscripts must be free of plagiarism, with a maximum similarity index of 25%.

  • Article formatting must follow the provided template consistently.

  • At least 85% of references must be published within the last 10 years.

  • All references must be managed using reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or equivalent.

  • Use APA (American Psychological Association) citation style.

    • In-text citations should include the last name(s) of author(s) and the year of publication.

    • For more than three authors, use “et al.” after the first name.

A. Books

Format:
Last Name, First Name. (Year). Title in Italics. City of Publication: Publisher.

Example:
Smith, John. (2018). Agricultural Practices and Innovations. New York: Green Earth Press.

B. Journal Articles

Format:
Last Name, First Name. (Year). “Article Title.” Journal Name in Italics, Volume(Number), Page Range.

Example:
Doe, Jane. (2021). “Trends in Livestock Management.” Journal of Animal Science, 45(2), 123–135.

C. Online Journal Articles

Format:
Last Name, First Name. (Year). “Article Title.” Journal Name in Italics, Volume(Number), Page Range. Retrieved from URL
