The House of Representatives (DPR) is a legislative institution in the Indonesian government system that has an important role in carrying out state functions. This research aims to know the scope and understand the function of the DPR as a representative institution of the people. DPR has three main functions, namely legislative function, budget function, and supervision function. The legislative function is related to the making of laws, the budget function plays a role in the ratification of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN), while the supervisory function is carried out on the performance of the government and the implementation of laws. Through a comprehensive understanding of the scope and functions of the DPR, the public is expected to better understand the role of the DPR in the democratic system and the importance of active participation in the political process. This research also reviews the challenges and obstacles faced by the DPR in carrying out its duties, as well as efforts to improve legislative performance..
